Project Overview

If you’re running a small lighting rig in a venue, as a rental, or in a retail space, you’ve probably upgraded to LED lights. Why? Because modern LEDs can produce any colour without the need for filters, so you can produce fantastic combinations of colours with just a few lights.
Sounds great, but you’ve probably noticed that when it comes to choosing a control console most of the ones available either aren’t designed to control colour and intensity or are way more complicated and expensive than required.

Enter the Stage CL, world first, small form factor, sophisticated and cost effective LED control.

Project Brief

To create a powerful lighting console in a small form factor with no compromise on features or performance.

The market place is extremely competitive and with manufactures and distributors constantly looking for lower costs the Stage CL had to finds its feet quickly. This meant the project had to go from blank paper to a production ready device in less than twelve months.

A vital part of the Stage CL is the software, the device has an obvious physical component, but equally it needed to interface with users and provide the software features required. Reducing the number of interface elements and providing enough processing power to run the software was mandatory.

Lastly but of equal importance, the Stage CL had to present a fresh and relevant form factor to the market. The Stage CL could not look like any other console but equally it could look like it did nt belong.

Project Innovation / Need

Designed specifcaly for LED fixtures but just as suitable for conventional lights the Stage CL provides full control of LEDs and is incredibly easy to control. This is totally unique and was designed, engineered and productionised 100% in Australia.

As well as providing total manual control, the Stage CL's automation features enable you to create sophisticated shows extremely quickly and easily.

The Stage CL has many innovations including, One-press recording, Snapshot saving, Touch Screen Interface as well as simple manual control, Channel Grouping to name a few. But, it is the fact that this is achieved in such a small size that makes the Stage CL truly innovative.

Design Challenge

The Stage CL literally is made for LEDs but before the Stage CL there was no industry standard for compact, powerful, accesable devices to control LEDs, this was the challenge. There was no path to follow so the Stage CL and the designers and engineers who developed it had to break new ground.

The intention was to develop a device that is very powerful, very intuitive and usable by both professional and non professional lighting designers/programmers.

The Stage CL had to be usable by a broad user base with applications as divers as Houses of Worship, Karaoke Bars, Retail as well as more traditional applications as Live Performance Venues, Clubs and Theaters.

With manufacturing struggling under market demands for low cost products, the Stage CL had to not place cost above performance, yet, it had to be cost effective to remain competitive and enter the market competitively.

Sustainability

From a LED Fixture perspective, historically these fixtures were not being used sustainably because there was nt a suitable interface device , such as the Stage CL, that can mange the power and flexibility of the fixtures. The Stage CL can manage LED Fixtures more effectively, more economically.

From a construction perspective the Stage CL uses ROHS compliant components and all mechanical components are 100% recyclable and manufactured from a percentage of recycled material.

Ultimately it is the design and engineering of the Stage CL that will make it an enduring product. It has very powerful software capabilities and software upgrades mean as a device it can move with progression in the lighting fixture market.

The Stage CL will enable users to manage LED's more effectively and due to its compact size and cost effectiveness more sustainable use of LED's is achievable across a wider market.
