Team

We're bleux [prn. blue], based in Surry Hills, and specialize in custom graphic design for interiors. We constantly cook up new designs that architects and designers can implement straight into their projects. We offer graphic solutions on various glass films, wallpapers, cut vinyl, resin, tiles, glass (carved, painted and printed) and aluminum composite paneling.

Project Brief

We love texture, we love colour and we love spring. The idea of daydreaming seeing fragments of colour through the kaleidoskope has inspired us to create this collection.

Project Innovation / Need

For the first time we offer our designs on timber veneer, this adds a natural texture to our designs. The collection itself is a manifestation of organics that are created by geometric shapes.
The designs are non repeat statement pieces that celebrate multiple bright colourways.

Design Challenge

Our curiosity in exploring and creating new textures and choosing the ones that complement each other, but also stand alone is the absolute challenge. Few designs we call 'haute couture' others are 'ready to wear'. The split between choosing one 'wow effect' design that gets published in the magazines, but never gets ordered again and choosing designs that might be less extravagant in the first place, but suit a wide range of interiors harmoniously.
Another challenge is to create designs that work on various substrates. The functionality of our optically clear glass film is to provide privacy, but also allow for the peekaboo effect. The white space in our designs defines the areas that turn to clear or show the raw finish. We preview and test every single job to ensure the scale and placement work perfectly for the surrounding space.

Sustainability

We're far from perfect, but we try to work with sustainable substrates where we can.

We don't carry stock. Everything we make is to order so wastage is minimised. We don't produce anything in China. We have a network of suppliers around Australia that we chose depending on proximity to the final installation. This minimises time, cost and ultimately resources used getting the materials to site.

We avoid buying packaged fruit and vegetables.
We drink tap water.
We walk/cycle to work.
